Funding between £50 and £500 is available, with applications being accepted until next week’s deadline of Saturday 15 August.

To apply, the non-profit and community groups need to be based or working in the parish of Barwell.

All submitted applications are considered by the Parish Council’s Finance Committee, with the grants getting awarded quarterly.

After August 15, the next wave of opportunities to apply will come three months later on in the year, in the month of November.

Each application that is submitted to the Parish Council will be assessed based on its own merits and will be considered along with the other applications placed at the meeting.

There is no scope for reconsideration as the committee’s decision is final.

If you have been successful in applying for a grant in the past, it is not possible to re-apply until twelve months have passed.

Barwell Councillor, Mathew Hulbert, explained why he is encouraging the groups to apply.

Hulbert said: “We know these are difficult times for charities, community and not-for-profit groups in Barwell parish, given the economic impact of COVID-19, and as a parish council we want to do what we can to help groups rebuild.

“I want to encourage groups to apply for this grant funding, as part of that effort.”
