A 20-person strong team of members from the Hinckley Running Club managed to clear the streets of the local areas by filling up a whopping total of 25 bags of litter when they were out on their walk.

The kind and helpful act from the local running group caught the eye of bosses at Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, who praised them on social media for their actions.

Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council thanked the running group on their official Facebook page. They said: “A big well done to 20 members of Hinckley Running Club who recently collected 25 bags of litter across Hinckley and Burbage.”

Speaking to the Hinckley Free Press, Liz Aspden-Mansfield, Secretary of Hinckley Running Club, said: “Whilst running around the parks and streets in the area, we were so disappointed by the amount of discarded rubbish, we made the decision to form a group called HRC Wombles and deal with the problem by getting out there and litter picking.”
