Hinckley history group to make BBC appearance

A LOCAL HISTORY GROUP for the Hinckley District are set to appear on BBC’s regional and local channel, BBC East Midlands next week.

Paul Gardener, Founder of local history and nostalgia community group, Hinckley District Past and Present, made the announcement to group members this morning at 10 am.

Speaking to the Hinckley Free Press, Paul revealed that the interview was conducted and pre-recorded by the BBC via video link and his video was filmed from his home.

The Hinckley history group are appearing on BBC East Midlands to discuss 10,000 members joining the Facebook-based group as they were nominated by members twice for the BBC’s ‘Make a Difference’ campaign.

The group with support from its members, have managed to raise around £12,000, since launching in 2015, with the money raised going toward good causes.

Group members and Hinckley residents will be able to tune in and see group founder Paul Gardener on the television on Monday 13 July 2020 on the BBC East Midlands Today show at the 6.30pm time slot.
