HINCKLEY’S CINEWORLD and the rest of the chain’s cinema venues across the United Kingdom and Ireland have had their reopening date rescheduled by bosses of the world’s second biggest cinema chain.

As we reported only five days ago on 26 June, Cineworld had planned to reopen all of their venues on 10 July, including Hinckley, with social distancing guidelines and safety measures in place.
However, yesterday on Twitter (31 June), the cinema chain had announced from their official account that they have made the decision to move the date later this month on Friday 31 July.
In a statement to the Hinckley Free Press, Cineworld explained the change for the dates.
A spokesperson said: “In line with recent adjustments to the schedule of upcoming movie releases, Cineworld will re-open its cinemas in the UK starting Friday July 31, subject to final clarifications and confirmation in relation to government COVID-19 restrictions.”
This means that Cineworld are reopening their doors for cinemagoers again nearer the release dates of new movies that are being shown in cinemas.
Movies that will be shown
The movies that will be on offer to cinemagoers are a mix of both classic family-favourite movies and upcoming 2020 releases.
Some of these titles include: Mulan, Tenet, Proxima, A Quiet Place Part II and No Time to Waste, just to name a few titles. More titles are listed here on the official Cineworld website.
Safety measures
Social distancing will be implemented across all areas of the cinema, and all customer and employee toilets will be stocked with anti-bacterial hand soap. Hand sanitiser stations will be provided in cinema venues for both customers and employees to use.
Cineworld are asking their customers to make sure that they are paying either with their card’s contactless payments, or a digital payment like Google Pay or Apple Pay. Their tills are accepting payments on each of these methods of £45.
The tills will be protected by plastic screens, as well as their concessions stands where safe distancing measures cannot be maintained.
All Cineworld employees are receiving the necessary COVID-19 training and will be provided with personal protective equipment (PPE).
The seating maps now allow you to sit closer to your family and friends that you are visiting with, whilst ensuring a safe distance between other customers in separate groups.
Films will start and end at staggered times, so that customers don’t cross paths heading in and out of different screens and to prevent a build-up of customers spending time in the foyer.
Tickets will be available to book in advance online with digital e-ticketing on the Cineworld website and mobile apps for both Apple and Android. Confirmation e-mails can be used as tickets and e-tickets can be found inside of the Cineworld app if customers book on there.
Cineworld are enhancing their cleaning by using a cleaning programme which helps clean and sanitise the high touch points within the cinema.
The Hinckley Free Press will keep you updated with any more Cineworld news and announcements.
