HINCKLEY POLICE have received increase amounts of calls regarding large groups of youths gathering in local parks across the town.
In some cases, they have even seen a staggering and shocking total of over 50 young people being out together in public parks during the ongoing pandemic.
The large social gatherings are a breach of the Government guidelines in place to prevent the pandemic. Some youths have been gathering to take part in damage, disorder, and even underage drinking.
Just two nights ago on Tuesday evening (16 June), officers attended to an incident at Clarendon Park which seen two male teenagers arrested for assault.
The two individuals were then released the following day on 17 June while the investigation continues.
Hinckley Police are receiving yet more reports of youths gathering and becoming involved in disorder.
Hinckley Police have asked parents to keep an eye on their children’s whereabouts during this pandemic.
In a statement on Facebook, Hinckley Police said: “We will not tolerate our community being disrupted and unruly behaviour.
“We would desperately ask that if you are a parent of a child aged between 13 and 18 do you know where they are, and what they are doing right now? We all have a role to play in preventing this behaviour and preventing the risk of increasing the infection rate.
“All our officers have been briefed on the use of the dispersal powers and will not hesitate to arrest anyone that is intent on coming out to cause Anti-Social Behaviour in our town.”
