American fried-chicken restaurant, KFC, have quietly reopened their drive-thru lanes for customers craving chicken.
Their doors have exclusively reopened for delivery couriers to collect food for hungry customers placing orders with food delivery services.
The reopening of KFC’s drive-thru based on Weddington Road comes on the same day that McDonald’s have decided to reopen their branches in Hinckley and Nuneaton.
The chicken chain had been closed since 25 March when they had no choice but to close following the Government guidelines which meant that their restaurants would temporarily close their doors for customers due to the ongoing pandemic.
Since the temporary closure in March, signs and notices surrounding the exterior of the restaurant stated the following: “Really sorry, we’re temporarily closed. We’ll be back at the fryers as soon as we can.”
However, members of staff at the Weddington Road-based chain made their way back to the fryers for the first time since March today.
KFC Weddington officially opened back up this morning and residents of Weddington were greeted with a new notice when they walked past the restaurant which read: “‘Welcome back! Drive thru now open”.
KFC UK and Ireland were approached for comment on the reopening, however, they did not respond in time of the publication.
KFC are also operating their drive-thrus located in Bermuda Park, Nuneaton, and Maple Drive, Hinckley, and will only be delivering from 12:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
