Hinckley’s business improvement district, Hinckley Bid, have announced a new family cooking competition.
Hinckley BID have launched a new free-to-enter competition for families in the area of Hinckley to take part in, titled The Great Hinckley BID Family Cooking Competition.

The competition was created to get families involved in cooking whilst sitting at home so they could have some fun cooking with other family members.
To enter into the competition, you need to cook an “Interesting Dish” of your own by preparing and cooking your own dish that you have created yourself, not one that has been taken from a cookery book or anywhere else.
Take a picture of your dish and submit it through the submission form attached on this article: https://form.jotform.com/briomedia/hinckley-bid-cooking-competition before the deadline of 30 April.
The winner will receive a £100 Hinckley Bid gift card to spend in Hinckley town centre when all of the shops open again once the pandemic has blown over.
There shall be will be two runner-up prizes of £50 and there will also be a prize worth £25 that shall be awarded for each of 2 separate entries for the following categories:
- Most colourful dish on the plate
- The Winning dish prepared by children aged 11 and under
- The healthiest dish
- The most amusing dish
The competition is open to all residents of the Borough of Hinckley and Bosworth.
The judges of the competition shall be the ‘Top Chefs’ from the St Martins Lodge Hotel and Conference Centre in Leicester.
The Hinckley Bid have proposed to collect the best 100 to 200 recipes and print them all together in a booklet.
The booklet will see pictures of the winning dishes with the family surnames next to them, to showcase which families have created the winning dishes.
The booklet will be up for sale with all of the sale proceeds going to a local NHS Staff Relief Fund.
As well as the sum raised, details of the winning creations will also be provided to the Media.
