Video game retailer returns to Nuneaton

Video game retailer GAME are making a triumphant return to the town of Nuneaton.

As we reported back in February, GAME on Queens Road closed its doors to their Nuneaton store on 15 February.

Due to the closure, residents have had to go out of the town to their closest GAME branches in Coventry’s Arena Retail Park and Hinckley town centre.

All of this will change though, as a tweet went up on the GAME Nuneaton Twitter account last night saying that the video game retailer will now join the town centre once again with a ‘shiny new store’.

GAME will not be moving back into their former unit on Queens Road, but instead they shall be joining Ropewalk Shopping Centre by occupying one of the currently vacant retail units.

The unit that they have decided to snap up in the shopping centre remains a mystery, however we shall reveal this information to you as soon as we find out.

Nuneaton’s GAME franchise announced on Twitter that they’ll join on April 1 with ‘all being well’.

GAME Nuneaton were unavailable for comment to Hinckley Free Press during the time of publication.

This was not public knowledge and has came as a surprise to residents. It shall join Bodycare, who plan to take HMV’s former space and JD Sports who are moving into a unknown shop unit later on in the year, presumably November.

Spaces they could use

There are still plenty of units up for grabs they have to choose from, such as the former shared clothing space between Topman and Topshop, Ernest Jones jewellers, Accessorize, an accessory store, and Monsoon, a womenswear retailer.

Stick with Hinckley Free Press as we will keep you updated as the story continues to develop further.
