FANNY BURNS, a Leicestershire-based drag queen, made history with her Bingo Balls event at The New Baron of Hinckley on Thursday night.
On 6 February, Burns hosted the first ever bingo event to take place in the building.
The bingo night was the first ever bingo event in history since it was purpose-built for Tim Martin’s British pub and hotel chain, J.D. Wetherspoon, 25 years ago.
Burns made history in January at The New Baron of Hinckley when she hosted her drag show which seen the first ever event in history take place.
Two games of bingo were hosted on Thursday night.
The first game seen a grand cash prize of £118 won and the second game seen a whopping grand total of £157 won.
After the bingo, a game featuring three players from randomly-selected raffle tickets took place, named Open Fanny’s Flaps.
The game winner was Notizie’s very own Hinckley and Nuneaton Reporter, Mason Moore, who won a free shot.
‘Open Fanny’s Flaps’ featured different blind bags with a wide array of prizes on offer inside.
The different prizes ranged from cash prizes of either £50 or £10, a free shot or free drink, an “I love Fanny Burns badge”, or a Poundland-bought prize, just to name a few.
Fanny Burns herself commented on the turnout. Burns said: “I’m blown away by the turn out of the bingo at the New Baron.
The place was buzzing and everyone looked to be having a great time. I can’t thank the people of Hinckley enough for the support they have shown.
I would love to see this event grow and grow, and I hope the people that came this month, not only return next month, but bring friends and family too.”
A loyal follower of Fanny Burns, Mimi Holder, said: “I have been to many of Fanny Burns gigs all across the UK, and I can honestly say Hinckley’s FIRST night of Burns’s Bingo Balls went amazingly well.
For a school night, it was so busy, which showed in the decent winning pots.
It was great to see familiar faces from Fanny’s previous gig at The Baron all enjoying a totally different atmosphere.
Of course she still lovingly abused her audience and sang incredibly, just with the added games of bingo and playing Fanny’s version of raffle.
My dabbers are ready I can’t wait till March’s Bingo Night.”
The £50 bonus that was up for grabs and wasn’t won will be rolled over into the cash prize of the next event on Thursday 5 March.
