NUNEATON’s Piero Lounge are set to host a charity fundraising quiz night for a local charity this Sunday night.

Piero Lounge, a café and bar owned by The Lounges, have an upcoming quiz night taking place at their Lounge on Sunday 9 February.

The quiz night is a charity fundraising quiz that will start at 7pm until around 9pm.

The chosen charity this week is the Hinckley and Nuneaton branch of the Cat Action Trust 1977, who will see all funds from this event going towards their charity.

The selected charity is Cat Action Trust 1977, who are a small national charity dedicated to the welfare of feral cats.

The charity is run by volunteers and they have a total of nine branches throughout the United Kingdom.

According to the charity, nearly all of the money raised for the charity is spent directly on the cats and their welfare, and only the bare minimum is spent on administrative costs.

There will be an admission fee of £1, with a maximum amount of 6 people in one team being able to take part in the quiz. A rule of no mobile phones is in place during the event.

There shall be prizes for the first and second teams who have won. The quiz night is child-friendly and family-oriented.

Piero Lounge supervisor, Becca, said: “The quiz is a good laugh and not to be taken too seriously, and it’s a good night.

I’d estimate we’d have around 45 people or so, we had that many for our first fundraising quiz night where we were raising money for the Australian bushfires.

The week after that, we had about 30 people take part in the quiz, the week following that, the numbers were back up to around 45 again.”

Becca later added: “Our Sunday evening quiz is a great way for us to get involved in the community and I am super proud to be a part of it.”

The Lounge, Piero Lounge, have expressed that they are open to suggestions for potential charities to hold quiz nights to raise money for. Members of the public can recommend a charity, or the charity themselves can contact Piero.
