Hinckley BID are once again hosting the annual Pancake Race in Hinckley.
This event takes place on Shrove Tuesday every year, and involves a fun-filled race to the top of Castle Street. This year, the event falls on 25 February.
The event is extra special this time around, though, as 2020 marks the tenth year that Hinckley BID has hosted the event, making this one a landmark occasion.

This event is not a fierce battle, though. The event is just for fun, with no threatening competition or hateful rivalries.
The main point of Hinckley BID’s 10th Annual Pancake Race is to bring the community together and to raise some money for charity.
Steve Wegerif, Director of Hinckley BID, said: “We have a wide range of entries this year, from school children to teams from businesses, as well as members of the public, and as it’s Hinckley BID’s 10th Annual Pancake Race, we hope that many will turn out to support it.
“Some individuals and teams are likely to be collecting for a charity of their choice.
“Not only are there trophies to be won, but everyone who enters will also receive a neck medal from the Mayor.
“It depends on the weather, but we always get a good crowd of spectators as well.”
A lot of the behind-the-scenes work for the event is being handled by Hinckley’s very own independent graphic designer duo, Brio Media.
Alex Russell, one half of Brio Media, said: “The Pancake race is always a fun event!
“Lots of people of all ages take part and there is a real family atmosphere on the day with parents cheering their children as they race up Castle Street, flipping pancakes as they go.
“As always, it’s a pleasure to help Hinckley BID with the promotion of the event.
“We have once again designed the event branding including posters, leaflets and digital social media assets.
“Fingers crossed the weather for this years event will be dry and sunny! We hope everyone has a great time.
“Maybe one year we’ll actually take part in the event, but it won’t be this year as we’re super busy currently, which is great!”
