Two days ago, Notizie reported on some emergency vegetation works occurring at Hinckley Station. The Station team were chopping down some overgrown greenery, but the decision to do this at night sparked some mixed opinions from the community.
Some of the people agreed with the station, saying that the work had to be done at night for safety reasons, while some were frustrated over not being informed about this work taking place.
Network Rail have come forward to Notizie to make a statement.
A spokesperson for the company said: “Network Rail is currently carrying out work to remove vegetation near the railway in Hinckley.”
“This is vital to make sure that trains can keep running reliably, as well as enabling staff to work in the area safely. The machine which carries out the work can only be used overnight when trains are not running.”
“We have written to residents in the area advising them of the work and we apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time.”
Notizie will keep you informed as this story develops. We would also like to thank Network Rail for their assistance in this matter.
