Independent women’s clothes retailer, Gem Clothing, is set to close in the near future.

Gem Clothing is an independent clothes shop that specialises in women’s fashion. It has been in Hinckley’s Britannia Shopping Centre for the last few months, but it will soon be closing its doors.

Gem originally came to Hinckley to replace the shopping centre’s Poundbase Plus branch, however there was no sign on the door, nor was there a mention of it on the Britannia Shopping Centre website. Gem had moved into the former Ethel Austin space under a short temporary lease.

After Gem shuts down, there will be two vacant shops right next to each other in the Britannia Centre, due to Poundworld closing a few years ago. However, there has not been any reports of new shops opening in the centre.
